The country was also honored as Asia’s Best Golf Destination 2021 for the fifth consecutive year.

In 2021, Viet Nam outstripped other golf destinations like the U.S., New Zealand, China, the RoK, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia thanks to luxurious and high-class service infrastructure.

Golf Legend Greg Norman, Ambassador for Vietnamese tourism in the golf field for the 2018-2021 tenure assessed that Viet Nam’s golf tourism is seeing a rosy path to becoming one of the world’s top destinations for global golfers. Viet Nam’s golf tourism is still at the very early stages of development but has already seen laudable achievements and attracts a large number of high-income golfers to Vietnam, who come not just to play golf but also to experience the endless charms of the Vietnamese landscape and culture.

Data from the Viet Nam Professional Golf Association showed over 70,000 people played golf as a leisure sport in the country in 2018, up from 10,000 in 2009. The country has more than 30 golf courses, many of international standards./.
