The Ambassador made the above statement at his meeting with Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director General of the Viet Nam Administration of Tourism on Wednesday.

He said he would update his country’s competent agencies, business community and people about recent situation in Viet Nam.

Meanwhile, Khanh told the diplomat that Viet Nam has controlled the epidemic well thanks to drastic and comprehensive measures by the Government and local authorities.

As of Thursday, 14 out of 16 confirmed patients have been cleared of the virus and discharged from hospitals, making Viet Nam one of the top countries with the highest rate of successful treatment.

Viet Nam is also one of three countries successfully growing and isolating the virus and has produced COVID-19 test kits that generate results in 30 minutes, said Khanh.

He stressed that Japan has been one of Viet Nam’s top tourist source markets. The Southeast Asian country welcomed 952,000 turns of Japanese tourists in 2019, up 15.2% against the previous year./.
