Viet Nam confirms four new local COVID-19 infections

VGP - Viet Nam confirmed four new community infection cases of COVID-19 on Monday morning, raising the national patient tally to 2,005.

All the latest cases are employees at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

They are being treated at the city’s Cu Chi field hospital.

Since the emergence of the third wave of local transmissions on January 27, the nation has detected 422 community infection cases, bringing the total locally-transmitted cases to 1,115.

Dr. Tran Nhu Duong, Deputy Director of the National Institute for Hygiene and Epidemiology said all serious COVID-19 clusters have been brought under control.

Duong, however, said it has never been easy in fighting the pandemic as there are always arising complicated situations, thus requiring us to sustain vigilance and join hands with the highest efforts in this fight.

To help citizens live safely with the pandemic, the Ministry of Health has repeatedly called on people to wear masks, disinfect, keep safe distance from each other, avoid gatherings, and declare health status./.
