The agreement was reached at the face-to-face talks between the pair in Ha Noi on Monday.

Both sides underlined the need to effectively implement the Viet Nam-Singapore economic connectivity agreement and work out concrete measures to boost cooperation in such fields like logistics, e-commerce, high-tech agriculture, and food processing in a bid to ensure post-Coronavirus recovery and sustainable development in each country.

The two foreign ministers also agreed to soon formulate a joint technical working group on digital partnership to work towards a bilateral agreement on digital economy.

They affirmed the important role played by the two foreign ministries in connecting and beefing up cooperation across areas between the two countries, thus contributing to further deepening the Viet Nam-Singapore strategic partnership.

Regarding regional and international issues of shared concerns, the two sides vowed to continue close coordination at regional and international organizations and forums such as the United Nations, APEC, ASEAN, and the Mekong Sub-region.

Comparing notes on the East Sea situation, the two foreign ministers uphold peace, stability, security, and freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea, observation of international law, especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, full and serious implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea and formulation of an effective and efficient Code of Conduct in the East Sea in line with the UNCLOS 1982./.
