The Government leader made the point at the Viet Nam Business Summit 2019 (VBS 2019) which was opened on October 16 in Ha Noi.

Under the theme "Viet Nam-A Trusted Business Partner in the Digital Age”, discussions at the VBS 2019 will focus on scientific and technological innovations, the shift of human resources in a digital age, and many opportunities for Viet Nam.

Deputy PM Dam underscored that Viet Nam is not only a trustful business partner but also a good friend. Viet Nam has spared no effort to be a responsible member, contributing to close ties with all countries in the world.

He affirmed that the Vietnamese Government would receive all business comments.

He went on to say that the country has spared no effort to attain comprehensive achievements. From a poor country, Viet Nam has become a medium-income country with average purchasing power of over US$ 7,500 per person.

Over the past 30 years, Viet Nam always maintained high growth rates. Last year, GDP growth rate touched 7.08%.

In addition, Viet Nam is perfecting the business environment. In 2018, Viet Nam jumped 10 places in the world rankings to 67th spot with 61.5 points.

The Vietnamese economy is extremely open to fair competitions for partners. So far, Viet Nam has become an investment destination of over 130 countries and economies with over 30,000 FDI projects worth over US$ 300 billion.

Recently, the Politburo issued a resolution detailing a number of guidelines and policies intended to make the country actively engage in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0). Accordingly, Viet Nam is determined to improve shortcomings and make full use of Industry 4.0.

As scheduled, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc is slated to be among key speakers at the VBS 2019, which has attracted 600 delegates, including 200 CEOs of international businesses and corporations, and a Japanese business delegation.

During the conference, businesses will have an opportunity to update on the latest development trends in the economy in the digital age, learn of new business opportunities, and gain knowledge from the many practical lessons of those who have been successful in the Vietnamese market.

The event will also provide the chance for domestic businesses to connect with international partners and share potential cooperation projects.

The VBS was first held at the APEC Summit in 2017. The VCCI hosted VBS2018 on the sidelines of the 2018 WEF ASEAN Conference in Viet Nam./.
