VGP – Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh will pay an official visit to Mongolia, a working visit to Japan and attend the 2017 Global Summit of Women in Tokyo, Japan from May 8-15.

May 06, 2017 4:56 PM GMT+7

The Vice President’s official visit to Mongolia aims to strengthen the traditional friendship relationship, expand trade ties and promote cooperation in such areas as labor, education, culture and tourism with Mongolia.

The two-way trade value attained US$58 million, however, potential for bilateral cooperation still remains vast in such fields like energy, mineral exploitation, and agriculture.

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese Vice President’s working visit to Japan is expected to further consolidate trust between leaders of the two countries as well as the Extensive Strategic Partnership with Japan, especially in economy, investment, labor, agriculture and local-to-local cooperation.

Japan has been the largest official development assistance provider, the 2nd largest investor and 4th in trade partner of Viet Nam.

During her stay in Japan, Vice President Thinh will also attend the 2017 Global Summit of Women themed “Beyond Womenomics: Accelerating Access” to affirm Viet Nam’s efforts and achievements in promoting gender equality and women advancement.

She will also highlight the active contributions of Vietnamese women in national construction and development, especially in economy, leadership and public-private domains.

The Global Summit of Women was conceived as the nexus at which all sectors – public, private and nonprofit – would come together under the common vision of dramatically expanding women’s economic opportunities globally through exchanges of working solutions and creative strategies forged by women leaders in different parts of the world./.
