Panama's international sea tourism company Jupiter Cruises has launched a sea travel service in Việt Nam, becoming the first foreign firm to provide cruise service for tourists in the country.

Its four-star ship, Jupiter, which is 175 m long and 22 m wide, has 400 cabins accommodating 1,200 people.

The ship will stop at Việt Nam’s major coastal tourist sites including Hải Phòng, Đà Nẵng, Nha Trang, Hồ Chí Minh City, Vũng Tàu, Côn Đảo and Phú Quốc.

The Chairman of the Executive Council of Jupiter Cruises said that the company wants to provide high quality tour service by sea at reasonable prices to become the first choice of Vietnamese.

According to the latest statistics, Việt Nam’s tourism boom has pinned hopes for international cruise ship owners to develop such kind of luxurious tour. Việt Nam has been emerging as a new destination for travel agencies and travelers given its abundant natural resources and potentialities to develop sea tourism.

Currently, the Việt Nam Administration of Tourism is considering establishing ties with the world’ major cruise ship companies and conducting market surveys. It also proposes that the Vietnamese Government devise a master plan for coastal scenic spots and exempt visas for sea travelers, so as to help realize the national target of welcoming 1 million sea tourists by 2015.
