VN’s images promoted at ASEAN +3 Festival

VGP - The Embassy of Viet Nam in Cambodia and Vietnamese students in the country on April 1 participated in the third ASEAN+3 festival in Phnom Penh.

April 02, 2018 5:07 PM GMT+7

The festival was jointly held by the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia and the Royal University of Phnom Penh.

It was attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Vu Quang Minh, the ambassadors of the ASEAN members and China, Japan and the Republic of Korea, along with local and foreign students in Phnom Penh.

Speaking at the event, the organisers said the annual festival created opportunities for students of ASEAN and its three dialogue nations in Cambodia to meet and share their cultural characteristics.

Non la (conical hat) and ao dai (traditional long dress) were introduced at the Vietnamese booth, as well as books and photos on the country and its famous tourist destinations. Viet Nam’s signature dishes, including “pho” (rice noodles with beef or chicken), were served at the event.

The ASEAN Plus Three Festival also featured singing and dancing performances, folk games, traditional dishes, and film screening of the participating countries.

Through this event, the Vietnamese Embassy and students hoped to promote the images of Viet Nam among regional peers and help to enhance mutual understanding and trust in the region and between ASEAN and its partner countries.

The event gathered young people from the 10 ASEAN nations and the bloc’s partners of China, Japan and the Republic of Korea. It aimed to create an opportunity for regional students who are studying in Cambodia to exchange with one another and popularise their countries’ special features.
