VN’s development achievements inspire Myanmar

VGP - Myanmar State Counsellor and Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Kyi spoke highly of Viet Nam’s development achievements during her meeting on Friday with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on the sidelines of the 30th ASEAN Summit in the Philippines.

She said the achievements have inspired Myanmar to continue efforts to overcome challenges and difficulties in national construction.

Myanmar pledged to continue facilitating Vietnamese investment and trade activities in the country, affirmed Suu Kyi.

The two sides agreed on continued talks toward the signing of cooperation agreements in trade, investment, transport, finance, justice, education, telecommunication and particularly agriculture and national defense.

Both sides also committed to enhancing coordination to promote ASEAN’s centrality, underlining that unity and solidarity are the prerequisite for a strong ASEAN Community.

The two leaders stressed disputes in the East Sea must be settled through peaceful measures on the basis of international law and called for early conclusion of a Code of Conduct in the East Sea./.
