VN's access-to-electricity index improves for sixth year in a row
VGP – Thanks to its reform efforts and synchronized solutions in the issue of getting electricity, Viet Nam has constantly improved its access-to-electricity index over the past five years, moving up 129 places from 156th to 27th in the World Bank’s East of Doing Business (EODB) report.

Viet Nam has now surpassed the Philippines to rank fourth in Southeast Asia.
In Viet Nam, among the 10 parameters used to evaluate the business environment, ‘Getting Electricity’ has been one of the three best indicators (only after credit access and construction licensing).
The continuous ‘Getting Electricity’ improvement in the annual EODB report has shown positive results brought about by the efforts of the Electricity and Renewable Energy Authority, Electricity Regulatory Authority of Viet Nam and Electricity of Viet Nam (EVN), as well as the Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, to provide customers with increasingly better quality and services in power supply.
Factors for evaluation of the access-to-electricity index in Viet Nam have also improved quickly. The number of administrative procedures was reduced from six to four while the working days to handle the procedures were also shortened from 115 to 31 days. Power supply reliability and transparency of electricity prices have already been on par with that of developed countries.
