VN-RoK Science and Technology Institute taking shape

VGP - The Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) is urgently finalising plans to construct a Viet Nam-Republic of Korea Institute of Science and Technology on over 20 hectares at the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park in the capital.

March 21, 2014 4:24 PM GMT+7

All necessary procedures are underway to launch the project later this year. Deputy Minister Tran Viet Thanh said at the third conference between Viet Nam and the Republic of Korea in Ha Noi on March 20.

The seminar offered opportunities for both sides to speed up the co-ordination among relevant agencies in the process of establishing the institute.

The institute is expected to become a multi-sector research one with modern technical infrastructure and highly qualified staff.

The first phase of the project will run between 2014 and 2017 at a cost of about $70 million, including US$35 million sourced from the RoK’s non-refundable aid.
