The fair is annually hosted in turn by the Kim Thành Industrial Commercial Park in Lào Cai and the Beishan Industrial Park in China.

The fair 2009 is the ever largest-scale one of its kind, with 650 stalls introducing automobiles, tractors, furniture, agro-products, input materials, chemicals, consumer goods, electronic products, domestic utensils and fine arts goods.

Over the past years, the fair has helped to promote trade exchange and investment between border provinces of Việt Nam and China.

On Tuesday morning, 14 economic contracts, worth US $114 million, were signed by 30 enterprises operating in minerals, fertilizers, machinery, and forest products.
