VN willing to support Laos in national development

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc asserted that Viet Nam has made efforts in strengthening cooperation with Laos and assisting the neighboring nation in its national development process, at his reception for Lao counterpart Thongloun Sisoulith in Ha Noi on June 1.

At the meeting, the PM stressed that the two nations’ ministries, agencies and localities have actively deployed agreements set by their Political Bureaus, with positive outcomes obtained across fields, especially crucial infrastructure projects such as Vung Ang Port and Vientiane-Ha Noi highway.

Lao PM Thongloun Sisoulith expressed his delight at the meeting with the Vietnamese counterpart, which created an opportunity for the two nations’ senior leaders to exchange measures to boost friendship and cooperative relations.

Viet Nam-sponsored projects in Laos have been effectively realized, Thongloun said, adding that Vietnamese firms investing in Laos have received support from the Lao Government.

The Lao PM expressed thanks to the Vietnamese Government for advocating Laos’s national development through cooperative mechanisms and specific measures, appraising the enhancement of key transport connectivity projects such as the Vientiane-Ha Noi Highway and Ha Tinh-Khammouan raiway system, which make contributions to accelerating economic ties and the East–West Economic corridor.

Meanwhile, PM Phuc affirmed that Viet Nam is willing to support and share experience with Laos to help the neighboring country promote national development process.

He suggested the two nations closely coordinate in organizing activities marking big events in 2019 while enhancing experience exchanges in Party building./.
