VN welcomes U.S. to maintain regional peace, stability
VGP – Viet Nam welcomes the U.S. to continue making active contributions to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region, said Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue at his meeting with U.S. Deputy National Security Advisor Mira Ricardel on June 25 in Washington D.C., the U.S.

Ms. Mira Ricardel confirmed the U.S attached importance to the comprehensive partnership with Viet Nam, a nation that plays a crucial role in launching the U.S.’s crucial policies in the Asia-Pacific.
She thanked the Vietnamese Government for its efforts in promoting cooperation with the U.S. in such areas as trade-investment, energy, agriculture, defense-security and remedial war.
Regarding international and regional issues of mutual concerns, Ms. Mira Ricardel asserted that the U.S. respects international laws and security and safety of aviation and navigation in the East Sea and hails Viet Nam’s advocate for efforts of President Donald Trump in denuclearization in the Korean Peninsula.

At the meeting, Mr. Hue proposed the U.S. Congress continue supporting Viet Nam to overcome the consequences of the war and the trade relations between the two nations, expressing his willing to join hands with the U.S. in contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Ms. Hirono affirmed to boost cooperation between the two nations’ legislative bodies and advocate the development of Viet Nam-U.S. relations in all fields, particularly economics and trade.
