VN welcomes Misubishi Motors to open second automobile production plant

VGP – The Vietnamese Government will work to attract more investments from foreign investors, including Japanese ones and Mitsubishi Motors to launch projects in Viet Nam, said Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue on January 15 at his reception for Executive Vice President of Overseas Operations of Mitsubishi Motors Kozo Shiraji.

The Deputy PM welcomed Misubishi Motors’ plan to construct the second automobile production plant in Viet Nam.

He asserted that the development of the automobile and auxiliary industries are high demands of the two Governments, with the aim of realizing the Viet Nam Industrialization Strategy in the framework of the Viet Nam – Japan cooperation in 2020 with a vision to 2030. 

The second automobile production plant of Misubishi Motors has the total investment of US$250 million, said Mr. Kozo Shiraji, adding that the plant will come into operation by 2020 with the capacity of 30,000-50,000 cars per year. 

He expected that Misubishi Motors will make contribution to the nation’s socio-economic development and share the potentials of producing environmentally-friendly cars in Viet Nam in the upcoming time.
