VN welcomes 15 millionth foreign visitor

The number of foreign visitors to Viet Nam sharply increases from more than one million in 1994 to over 15 million ones in 2018

As scheduled, at Ha Long International Cruise Port, the General Department of Tourism and Quang Ninh Province’s People’s Committee will organize a ceremony to receive the 15 millionth foreign passenger to Viet Nam. 

This is regarded as a crucial landmark of the sector in 2018, contributing to asserting that the nation has been an attractive, safe and friendly destination in the Asia-Pacific region and will pave the way for the country’s tourism to become a key economic sector. 

In 2018, the nation has also served 80 million domestic passengers and gained VND620,000 billion from tourism. 

Viet Nam was awarded with remarkable prizes in the year such as Asia's Leading Destination at the prestigious World Travel Awards 2018 and Asia's Best Golf Destination 2018 at the Golf World Travel Awards.
