He affirmed Viet Nam has made efforts in fully realizing its commitments and advocated the WTO’s rising role, initiatives and activities.

As the current host of the APEC Year, Viet Nam will continue efforts to consolidate the multi-lateral trading system in general and contribute to the 11th Ministerial Conference (MC11) scheduled in December this year in Argentina.

The WTO leaders congratulated on the achievements Viet Nam has gained in the international economic integration process, welcoming Viet Nam’s contributions to boost freedom of global trade.

Director-General Roberto Azevedo agreed that the WTO will continue its technical assistance for Viet Nam in the future.

The same day, Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue met with President Yves Mirabaud and Managing Director Edouard Cuendet of the Geneva Financial Center.

The Deputy PM briefed about Viet Nam’s policies in such areas of securities, insurance, banking and State-owned enterprises.

The two sides discussed on support for Viet Nam to access to financial resources, improve institution and governance capacity and monitor the financial institutions based on the international standards.

Deputy PM Hue asked the Geneva Financial Center to expand cooperation with Vietnamese financial associations in experience sharing and training.
