The Government leader made the statement at a reception for newly appointed Spanish Ambassador to Viet Nam, Maria Jesus Figa Lopez-Palop, in Ha Noi on September 19.

As Spain’s strategic partner towards the future, Viet Nam is interested in promoting comprehensive relations with the European country, especially in the fields of economics, trade and investment, PM Phuc said, stating that the Vietnamese Government pledges favorable conditions for Spanish companies to do business in Viet Nam.

He urged both sides to strengthen the exchange of all-level delegations, soon devise an action program as a framework for bilateral cooperation in the years ahead, and continue implementing activities to celebrate 40 years of Viet Nam-Spain diplomatic ties in 2017.

The leader highlighted the need for the two countries to further accelerate economic cooperation in the areas of Spain’s strength and Viet Nam’s priority, such as renewable energy, infrastructure, tourism and high-tech agriculture, in addition to working closely with each other at international forums, especially at the United Nations, ASEAN and ASEAN-EU.

Via the ambassador, PM Phuc conveyed his invitation to Spanish PM Mariano Rajoy to visit Viet Nam in the near future.

Maria Jesus Figa Lopez-Palop expressed her delight to assume tasks in Viet Nam, whilst pledging her utmost efforts to elevate the relations between the two nations.

She proposed a number of recommendations in regards to the acceleration of some Spanish projects in Viet Nam, noting that promoting economic and trade ties between the two countries is one of the key tasks during her working tenure.

On the occasion, the Spanish diplomat extended her sympathy to the Vietnamese people over their losses caused by storm Doksuri.
