On behalf of the Vietnamese Government, PM Dung warmly welcomed the visit by Vice President Buonnhang Vorachith to attend the 50th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties and the 35th anniversary of the signing of Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty.

PM Dung was delighted that the joint programs have been effectively implemented, saying the Vietnamese Government would continue to realize the agreements reached by two countries’ leaders.

He also proposed the two sides enhance reciprocal visits and high-ranking contacts to beef up the bilateral cooperation in various fields.

Vice President Buonnhang Vorachith reiterated that Laos always attaches importance to consolidating and enhancing relations with Vietnam.

Both sides should further give priority to boosting cooperation in economics, trade and investment beside education, healthcare, tourism and culture and strive to increase the two-way trade turnover to US$2 billion by 2015, the Lao Vice President said.

Laos pledges to create the most favorable conditions for Vietnamese investors to do long-term business in the country, he added.

On the same day, PM Dung received France's outgoing Ambassador to Vietnam Jean Francois Girault.
