VN treasures sustainable cooperation with foreign investors

VNGOP – On the first day, June 24, during his attendance of the World Economic Forum on East Asia 2007 held in Singapore, Standing Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng received the WEF leaders and executives of many leading businesses of the region and the world.

In the reception to the WEF Managing Director Peter Torreele, Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng said that Vietnam always attaches importance to the Forum's performance. Through the WEF activities and forums, many international organizations and businesses have come to Vietnam to study the business environment and investment chances.

Mr. Peter Torreele highly spoke of Vietnam's recent achievements. The WEF Managing Director expressed his desire that Vietnamese enterprises will proactively take part in the WEF activities and that Vietnam will continue its comprehensive and fruitful cooperation with foreign investors.

The two sides agreed to organize the WEF on East Asia 2009 in Vietnam.

Receiving Mr. Lito Camacho, former Finance Secretary of the Philippines, Vice Chairman of Credit-Suisse Bank, Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng praised Credit-Suisse for its cooperation with Vietnam. The Deputy PM stresses that Vietnam always attaches importance to foreign investments and internal resources to train and develop her human resource, take care of public health, improve education quality, and build scientific research centers.

Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng revealed that Vietnam aims at comprehensive and long-lasting cooperation with all friends in the world. At present, Vietnam is renovating her investment environment to attract foreign investors, he said. The Deputy PM asked Credit-Suisse Bank to invest in infrastructure and increasing capacity for Vietnamese managers.

Mr. Lito Camacho confirmed that Credit-Suisse Bank considers Vietnam as a model of long-tern and effective cooperation. He hoped that the two sides will collaborate and support each other in the time to come.

On the same day, Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng met leaders of Financial Technologies and  Barclays.
