Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue receives Takebe Tsutomu, Special Advisor to the Japan-Viet Nam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, Ha Noi, November 18, 2019

At the reception, Special Advisor to the Japan-Viet Nam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance Takebe Tsutomu said around 1,000 delegates who are parliamentary and government officials and  business representatives from Japan led by Secretary General of the Liberal Democratic Party and Chairman of the Japan-Viet Nam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance Nikai Toshihiro are set to visit Viet Nam in January next year.

They will have working sessions with Vietnamese Government and National Assembly agencies and the Vietnamese business community in central city of Danang, he added.

This is a chance for both sides to tighten relations between the two countries, he affirmed.

He said he hopes that the Vietnamese Government will offer optimal conditions to speed up the Viet Nam-Japan University construction project, thus contributing to enhancing bilateral cooperation in education and training.

Deputy PM Hue highly appreciated the role of Tsutomu in cooperating and developing trade and investment between the two countries over the past years.

Welcoming the forthcoming visit to Viet Nam by Secretary General of the Liberal Democratic Party and Chairman of the Japan-Viet Nam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance Nikai Toshihiro, Hue said the Prime Minister has assigned the Foreign Ministry and concerned localities to make careful preparations for the trip.

On the proposal to build Viet Nam-Japan University, he said the Vietnamese Government wants that the project will become a symbol in the Viet Nam -Japan ties in general and in education and training cooperation in particular.

The Deputy PM said he will ask Viet Nam National University to finalize a report on building the project using Japan’s ODA and a special finance mechanism regarding the education establishment to submit it to the Government for consideration.

He took the occasion to speak highly of Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam Kunio Umeda’s contributions in promoting the Vietnam-Japan relations, stressing the Government will work to remove bottlenecks to accelerate the implementation of projects between the two countries.

He wished that Tsutomu Takebe would further his efforts to step up the bilateral relations.
