VN to host key regional summits in March

VGP – Viet Nam will host the 6th Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) Summit and the 10th Cambodia-Laos-Viet Nam (CLV) Development Triangle Area Summit in Ha Noi from March 29-31, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang told a room of reporters today.

March 01, 2018 6:20 PM GMT+7

On the occasion, Viet Nam will also host the first GMS Business Summit in order to boost engagement of businesses and development partners in the sub-region’s development process, Hang said.

The GMS mechanism was initiated in 1992 by six countries namely Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Viet Nam and China with the support of the Asian Development Bank.

Meanwhile, the CLV Development Triangle Area was established in 1999 to boost cooperation among the three countries’ border provinces./.
