VN to host 31st FAO Asia-Pacific Meeting in 2012
VGP – The Government chief agreed with a suggestion of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) that Việt Nam will chair the 31st Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) Regional Conference for Asia and the Pacific in 2012.

The MARD will be in charge of setting up an organization board headed by its Minister.
The organization board will comprise representatives from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security and the Minister of Finance.
FAO has operated in Việt Nam since 1978. So far, FAO has engaged in 400 projects in Việt Nam in such areas as sustained agricultural development, food security, nutrition, forestry and fishery.
