VN to hold STATE FUNERAL for former Party chief Do Muoi

VGP - The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, the Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, and the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front decided to hold State Funeral for former Party General Secretary Do Muoi from October 6-7.

Former Party chief Do Muoi passed away at 23:12 on October 1, 2018, of serious illness and old age at the Military Central Hospital 108 in Ha Noi.

After more than 80 years joining revolutionary activities, comrade Do Muoi had made great contributions to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. He had been awarded with a Gold Star Order, an insignia of 80-year Party membership, and many other noble orders and medals.

A ceremony to pay tribute to the late Party General Secretary Do Muoi will begin at 7:00 am on October 6 until 7:30 am on October 7 at the National Funeral Home at No.5 Le Thanh Tong Street in Ha Noi where his remains are preserved.

It was followed by a memorial service at the hall at 9:00 am on October 7. The burial ceremony is scheduled at 13:00 am the same day in his home town – Dong My Commune, Thanh Tri District, Ha Noi.

The tribute-paying and memorial ceremonies will take place at Thong Nhat Hall in Ho Chi Minh City at the same time in Ha Noi.

The Viet Nam Television (VTV) and the Voice of Viet Nam (VOV) will broadcast these ceremonies live.

On October 6-7, all State offices and public facilities will fly the national flag at half-mast and all entertainment activities will be suspended./.
