VGP - Việt Nam will take part in 11 major sports games to be held at home and abroad this year, said Mr. Nguyễn Danh Thái, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on Friday.

February 28, 2009 8:00 PM GMT+7

The Việt Nam Olympics Committee will work with relevant ministries and agencies to effectively prepare for the 3rd Asian Indoor Games (AI Games III) hosted by Việt Nam.

Together with the General Department of Sports and Physical Culture, the Committee will assist Laos to develop sports and successfully host the 25th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 25).

The Committee will also help Cambodia, Brunei, East Timor and Nepal to improve their techniques on demands, while seeking sponsorships to send excellent athletes to compete in international games.

From October 30 to November 8, Việt Nam will host the AI Games III under the theme “For a Developing Asia”. About 1,000 officials and 5,000 athletes from 45 countries and territories are going to participate in the event.
