As a PPD member, Việt Nam can increase its capacity in reproductive health and family planning

The PM assigned the MoH’s General Office for Population and Family Planning to undertake all obligations and right of a PPD member.

PPD is an inter-governmental organization, launched in 1994 in Cairo. The alliance is dedicated to forming partnerships between and among individuals, organizations and the governments of developing countries.

Its mission is to assist member countries and other developing countries to address successfully the sexual and reproductive health and rights, including family planning and HIV/AIDS, population and development challenges through South-South collaboration by raising a common voice and sharing sustainable, effective, efficient, accessible and acceptable solutions considering the diverse economic, social, political, religious and cultural characteristics of each and every country.

With progressing time, the alliance places more emphasis on addressing specific country and regional needs and concerns such as adolescent’s reproductive health, reproductive health commodity security, migration and aging.

By joining PPD, Việt Nam will have chances to share with other members its experience of reproductive health and family planning as well as sharpen its capacity through training courses and population and development forums.
