VN to attend session on ICCPR’s implementation

VGP – The United Nations Human Rights Committee will hold a session on Viet Nam’s third national report on the implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) from March 11-12 in Geneva, Switzerland.

March 07, 2019 9:07 AM GMT+7

Deputy Minister of Justice Nguyen Khanh Ngoc will lead an interdisciplinary delegation to attend the event and share Viet Nam’s efforts and achievements to protect and promote civil and political rights after the second report presented in 2002.

The ICCPR is one of the most important international human rights treaties with large-scale scope of regulations on civil and political rights for each individual.

Earlier, in late 2017 and 2018, Viet Nam submitted its third national report on the ICCPR enforcement and a report in reply to a list of issues of interest of the UN Human Rights Committee./.
