VN takes over ASEAN Committee in Prague

VGP – A ceremony was held in Prague, the Czech Republic on August 25 to hand over the Chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee in Prague (ACP) from Indonesia to Viet Nam.

Participants in the event included representatives of six ASEAN country members in the Czech Republic, namely Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Myanmar, Indonesia and Viet Nam. 

Speaking at the event, Indonesian Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ekaningsih expressed her hope that ASEAN countries will join hands to promote the relationship between ASEAN and the Czech Republic in the upcoming time. 

Ambassador Thai Anh Dung spoke highly of the role of the Indonesian Embassy and the Ambassador in enhancing the relations between ASEAN and the Czech Republic, contributing to consolidating the solidarity and coordination between Embassies of ASEAN nations in Prague. 

Earlier, Ambassadors of ASEAN nations in Prague had gathered to discuss key activities of ASEAN and the ACP in the first half of 2020 amid the outbreaks of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The ACP, formally established in 2013, consists of the Embassies of Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam./.
