VN takes lead on export growth rate despite COVID-19

VGP – Viet Nam earned US$ 281.5 billion of export turnover, becoming one of economies with highest export growth rates with 6.5% in 2020, said Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh.

Export turnover jumped from US$ 176.58 billion in 2016 to nearly US$ 281.5 billion in 2020, up about 11.7% compared to the preset goal of 10%.

So far, Viet Nam boasted for over 31 commodities with export value of over US$ 1 billion each, accounting for 92% of the country's total export volume.

The country also ran a record trade surplus of US$ 19.1 billion in 2020./.
