VNGOP - Việt Nam welcomes the 2nd summit talks between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the Republic of Korea (RoK) to be held in Pyongyang on August 28-30, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Lê Dũng said at a press briefing in Hà Nội on August 9.

"We welcome the decision on the talks and consider it an important and positive step forward in the relationship between the two Koreas," said the Spokesman, adding that Việt Nam hopes the Summit will be a great success, boosting reconciliation, cooperation, peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in the region.

He affirmed Việt Nam’s support for peaceful talks to settle all Korea-related issues as well as for the aspiration of peoples of the two Koreas for national reunification. "Việt Nam is willing to make active contributions to the improvement of the relations between the DPRK and the RoK as well as the peace process on the Korean Peninsula," the Spokesman concluded.
