VN supports ASEAN-China cooperation

VGP – Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh asserted that Viet Nam always attaches importance to and supports ASEAN-China cooperation, willing to uphold the bridging role between the ASEAN Economic Community and China.

Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh, Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli and leaders of other ASEAN nations on September 12 attended the opening ceremony of the 14th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the 14th China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS).

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Vietnamese Deputy PM highlighted the crucial meaning of the event, which was organized on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN and have contributed to enhancing the Strategic Partnership between ASEAN and China, the advantages and potentials in the cooperation between China and  ASEAN.

Viet Nam attaches importance to CAEXPOs and has more than 250 booths at the 14th Expo, becoming the ASEAN country with the biggest number of booths at the expo for 12 straight years, he added.

He introduced Viet Nam’s potentials and determinations in active international integration, making responsible contributions to the international and regional issues, adding that the country has economic and trade relations with 224 countries and territories.

Viet Nam will join hands with other nations in ASEAN to boost cooperation in all fields, maintain peace, stability and address differences for the sake of all sides to ensure economic and trade cooperation, contributing to the regional peace, cooperation, development and prosperity.

Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli reviewed cooperative policies and activities between China and ASEAN over the recent years, affirming that China attaches importance to the cooperation with ASEAN.

He proposed cooperative policies and orientations in the future, stressing the necessity to strengthen political belief to create foundation for further cooperation in economics and trade and improve production, connection and people-to-people exchanges.
