VN sends over 102,000 labourers to work abroad

VGP - More than 102,000 Vietnamese workers went to work overseas in the first nine months of this year, including nearly 37,000 female workers, reaching 92.64% of the yearly set target, according to the VietNam Labour Export Association.

Accordingly, roughly 16,080 employees (5,626 female) departed to work overseas in September alone.

The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs aims to send 111,000 workers abroad by the end of this year.

Japan, Chinese Taipei and the Republic of Korea (RoK) are among the top largest host markets for Vietnamese overseas workers.

Under its set quota for receiving foreign labourers in 2018, the RoK is expected to host 3,500 Vietnamese labourers to work in its manufacturing sector, not including agriculture and fisheries.

During January-September, Vietnamese nationals went to work in 26 countries and territories. Five largest markets of Vietnamese labour were Taiwan, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Romania and Saudi ArabiaIn 2017, over 134,700 labourers were sent abroad.  

The country has 340 enterprises providing labour export services, most of them are in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.
