VN reports zero new case of coronavirus on Wednesday morning

VGP – The number of positive COVID-19 patients in Viet Nam remained at 989 as of 6:00 am of August 19, the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control reported.

Out of the active cases, 100 patients received negative tests from one to three times.

As of early August 19, Viet Nam confirmed 649 local transmission cases including 509 cases in Da Nang since July 25.

Hence, from 6:00 pm of August 18 to 6:00 am of August 19, Viet Nam confirmed no new cases of coronavirus infection.

At present, 81,585 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients or returning from pandemic-hit area are being quarantined across the country, including 3,350 at hospital; 22,360 at quarantine camps; and 55,875 at places of residence.

The COVID-19 Treatment Committee reported that five patients with serious chronic conditions were discharged from the Hue Central Hospital. So far, 525 out of 989 patients have been given all-clear.  The country reported a death toll of 25.

Out of the remaining active cases, 35 have tested negative for the coronavirus at least once, 35 others at least twice; and 30 others at least three times./.
