VN reports no new community infections in 78 consecutive days

As of 6:00 AM on July 3, Viet Nam confirmed 215 imported cases who were quarantined upon arrival.

Until now, 340, or 95.8% of all infections, have recovered, with the latest four patients having received the all-clear at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi on Thursday. There have been no related deaths.

Most of the 15 remaining patients are in stable health condition, with three tested negative for the coronavirus at least twice.

Meanwhile, 8,859 people are currently under medical surveillance, including 120 in hospitals, 7,040 in other quarantine facilities, and 1,699 at home.

Regarding Patient 91 – a British pilot who is still in rehabilitation following his recovery from the coronavirus, the patient has regained full muscle strength in his hands and feet, with normal liver, kidney, cardiovascular and pancreatic function. He can breathe on his own and oxygen exchange in his lungs has improved.

Today, the Subcommittee of Treatment under the National Steering Committee will hold the 6th national consultation to assess the overall health of the British pilot to ensure that he is healthy enough to take a non-stop 12-hour flight back home on July 12.
