VGP – Viet Nam has repatriated 276 and 340 citizens from Canada and the US, respectively, over the past two days, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

They included children aged 18 and below, seniors, people with extremely difficult circumstances and tourists whose visa had expired.

All of the incoming passengers had to underwent medical checks before boarding and wear face masks throughout the flights.

Upon their arrivals, the passengers were sent to centralized quarantine camps and had their samples taken for COVID-19 testing as currently regulated by the Government.

As the COVID-19 outbreaks have been contained, the Government decided to lift social distancing in a bid to restart the economy but citizens are encouraged to continue preventive measures such as mask wearing  and hand washing to protect their health.

On Saturday morning, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc presided over a meeting with businesses, during which he called for doubling efforts to achieve the growth rate of at least 5% this year./.
