Minh made the above statement during his phone talks with Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation Arancha Gonzalez Laya on April 22.

He briefed about the recent measures and situation of the COVID-19 fight in Viet Nam, in which the Southeast Asian country has placed priority on controlling and staunching the spread of the virus in tandem with maintaining economic stability and post-pandemic growth.

Meanwhile, Gonzalez Laya extended thanks to the Government and people of Viet Nam for having offered 110,000 face masks to her country.

She highly valued Viet Nam’s proactive and drastic measures as well as its active role and initiatives for the COVID-19 fight both at regional and international levels.

Both sides affirmed that they will strengthen their strategic partnership and coordination over issues of shared concerns at multilateral and international forums as Viet Nam is undertaking the double role as ASEAN Chair and non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council./.
