Việt Nam lured some 432,600 international arrivals in April, raising the total in the first four months of this year to 1.8 million, increasing 35% over the same period last year, according to the Việt Nam National Administration of Tourism.

“Previously, we were comfortable as there were not many competitors in our region. But now, we have Việt Nam and Cambodia emerging fast as tourist lurers,” Malaysian Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen was quoted by Star Online,

Việt Nam targets to attract more international visitors this year, through the organization of grand programs, such as the 1,000th founding anniversary of Thăng Long–Hà Nội and the Huế Festival 2010.
