VN raises import tax on meat & poultry

VGP – Under Decision 83/2008/QĐ-BTC recently released by the Ministry of Finance, the preferential import tax will be readjusted for some imports like meat, iron and steel since October 12.

October 06, 2008 5:11 PM GMT+7

In the early eight months, Việt Nam imported around 118,000 tons of meat of all kinds

Accordingly, the import tax rate of raw or frozen pork (group 0203) increases from 25% to 27%; of raw or frozen beef (groups 0201 and 0202) from 15% to 17%.

Under the Decision, poultry’s tax rate will experience sharp readjustment, from 12-15% to 20-40%.

Vegetables used as food for domestic animals and non-alloy steel and iron products will enjoy new tax rates which are appropriate to the market demands.
