VN piloting online customs model
VGP – Within the period of 2009-2011, Việt Nam is stepping up a pilot program on online customs procedures so that the Customs sector can build a unified system for processing import and export-related data in 2012.

Right in 2009, the provincial Customs Departments of Đồng Nai, Bình Dương, Hà Nội, Lạng Sơn and Đà Nẵng are the local bodies to pilot the program.
Since mid-2005, the model has been deployed in Hải Phòng and Hồ Chí Minh Cities. Other localities to pilot the online customs during the period of 2009-2011 are Cần Thơ, Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu and Quảng Ninh.
The online customs procedures, including data processing and customs clearance of goods, will surely benefit enterprises by curtailing time and making customs transactions more transparent.
