VN opposes Taiwan’s live-fire drills in Truong Sa

VGP – Viet Nam resolutely opposes Taiwan’s live-fire drills in the waters areas around Ba Binh island which forms part of Viet Nam Truong Sa archipelagos.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang made the above statement on May 26 in response to reporters’ queries on Viet Nam’s reaction to the Taiwanese action.

Viet Nam has full historical evidence and legal grounds to prove its sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spartly) archipelagos, Hang affirmed.

Taiwan’s drills at Ba Binh island seriously encroach upon Viet Nam’s sovereignty over the archipelago, threaten peace, stability, security and safety of navigation and cause tension and complicate the situation in the East Sea, she said.

“Once again, Viet Nam resolutely opposes and demands Taiwan to not repeat similar activities,” the Spokesperson asserted./.
