VN offers Chile US $150,000 to cope with quake

VGP – In the deep sympathy to serious damages caused by earthquake and tsunami in Chile, the Government of Việt Nam donates US $150,000 in order to partly help Chilean people overcome consequences of the disasters.

Meeting Chile’s Ambassador to Việt Nam Jorge Canelas on March 5, Permanent Deputy FM Phạm Bình Minh conveyed deep consolations from the Government and people of Việt Nam to human and material damages caused by the earthquake and tsunami in Chile on February 27.

Mr. informed that the Vietnamese Government had decided to present Chile with US $150,000 to overcome the consequences.

Ambassador Jorge Canelas praised the move as a vivid evidence of the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Chile and Việt Nam./.
