VN objects construction on rock islets in Paracel and Spratly islands

VGP - Viet Nam has sufficient legal and historical evidence validating its sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos, Foreign Ministry’s Deputy Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang reiterated in Ha Noi on September 26.

The Deputy Spokesperson made the point in replying a reporter’s question about Viet Nam’s response to Chinese leaders’ recent statement relating to Truong Sa during the US media’s interview.

The deputy spokesperson said the construction and expansion of structures on rock islets and shoals in Hoang Sa and Truong Sa without Viet Nam’s permission is completely illegal and void.

Viet Nam resolutely objects the aforementioned actions and requests parties concerned seriously abide by the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea, making practical contributions to maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea, the diplomat said./.
