This was the unprecedented biggest project in Viet Nam’s science and technology and laid a basic foundation for Viet Nam’s space technology development.

The project was ground broken at Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park in September, 2012 and was scheduled to be completed in 2022.

After five years of implementation, the project succeeded in manufacturing and applying space technology. It followed the set satellite development plans as well as researched and applied satellite technology in managing forest, agriculture and climate change impact assessment.

Under the project, Viet Nam sets out a plan to become one of the region’s most advanced countries in satellite technology by producing LOTUSat-2 by 2022.

In the 2017-2022 period, besides completing the planned projects, the centre will focus on studying and developing space science and technology./.
