VN in top 20 favorite destinations

VGP - The recent survey organized annually by the travel magazine Conde Nast Traveller to elect the world’s “best” tourist destinations and services ranks Việt Nam among 20 top favorite destinations.

In the first three quarters of this year, despite domestic and global economic woes, Việt Nam welcomed more than 3.3 million foreign tourists, up 6% against the same period last year.

The year figure is estimated around 5 million visitors, bringing about a revenue of US $5 billion.

Travel agencies and experts said that the country’s tourism has seen no low season with surging international arrivals in recent years.

More and more scenic spots of Việt Nam have appeared regularly in world and regional travel ratings for best sites, hotels and services.

According to the national plan of action for tourism in the 2006-2010 period, which has been approved by the Vietnamese Government, tourism is considered a spearhead sector and Việt Nam targets to become a country with developed tourism in the region.
