VGP - Young and educated workforce in Việt Nam is the biggest hope to drive the country out of the current global economic crisis and maintain future growth, remarked many foreign business leaders when assessing Việt Nam’s economic prospects.

With two thirds of its population aged under 35 and literacy rates reaching 90-95%, Việt Nam boasts a young and well-educated workforce.
Mr. Tom Tobin, General Director of HSBC in Việt Nam, said that, with such a demographic advantage, Việt Nam’s productivity is very high in the next ten years, no matter what the global backdrop.

Tsutomu Yokoyama, General Director of Nikkiso Việt Nam MFG, a producer of medical equipment in Hồ Chí Minh City, compared similarities between Vietnamese and Japanese people, especially well education, high motivation and industriousness. Mr. Yokoyama highly appreciated the quality of workforce in Việt Nam.

Some foreign business executives in Hồ Chí Minh City held that young Vietnamese are hard working.

According to Kim Jae-Young, Deputy General Director of Doosan Heavy Industries Việt Nam, many Korean companies prefer Việt Nam because of its skilled laborers.
