VN facilitates U.S. investment in financial market

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc highly appraised Warburg Pincus’ agreements with the VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund on investing in Viet Nam’s financial market at his meeting with President of Warburg Pincus and former Treasury Secretary of the U.S. Timothy Geithner in Ha Noi on September 20.

Viet Nam attaches importance and gives priority to enhancing the Comprehensive Partnership with the U.S., expecting to attract more U.S. investors to Viet Nam, especially in financial investment, said the PM.

The nation has promoted the development of businesses and created a sustainable investment and business environment with positive indexes in fields of macro-economic growth, payment balance, inflation rate and other sectors, he asserted.

Mr. Timothy Geithner said that the corporation expects to take advantages of investment opportunities in Viet Nam and gain some cooperation agreements with Viet Nam’s investment funds. 

The PM affirmed that the nation is focusing on realizing economic restructuring plan and completing institution, including the development of financial and monetary markets.
