The program sets a goal that by 2025 Viet Nam would enter the list of five ASEAN countries leading in physical science development as according to SCOPUS rankings.

Specifically, the program targets to boost science and technology in physics; combine high-quality training, basic research, application-oriented basic research; attach theoretical research and experimental studies and application research.

In addition, the program aims to raise competence of physics lecturers nationwide and train young physicists.

By 2025, 50% of physics lecturers will acquire Ph.D on the field at key universities.

The program also looks to raise the number of posted physics works at international prestigious magazines (in accordance with ISI/SCOPUS) by 30% per year.

To fulfill the aforesaid goals, the State orders national tasks in science and technology in physics field.

Physics lectures will be encouraged to promote research activities and facilitate research programs for young physicists. Teachers of high schools will be trained.

The program also aims to raise the number of students and people with masters and Ph.D in physics and provide more scholarships for good students and physicists.

It plans to build and upgrade some physical labs./.
