The Government chief highlighted the significant role of foreign ambassadors, charge d’affaires and representatives of international organizations in promoting their countries/organizations’ relations with Viet Nam.

Thanks to the international community’s cooperation, the Vietnamese economy is developing increasingly stablly with the GDP expanding 5.54 percent in the first nine months this year, PM Dung noted.

The country is now focusing on restructuring the economy, improving legal system and accelerating international integration process towards fast and sustainable development.

Regarding security and development aspect, he emphasized that the most basic and effective way to ensure peace and stability and development for all countries is through dialogue, cooperation and mutual respect on the basis of internatinal law and common standards.

In such spirit, Viet Nam always spares no effort to make active and responsible contributions to regional and international security and development issues, said PM Dung.

Viet Nam is determined to work with other ASEAN member countries to beef up ASEAN Community building and formulation of a regional architecture led by ASEAN, give prominence to international law, shape common behavioral norms in the region.

The country has joined United Nations peace-keeping operations, fulfilling its role in some major organizations like the UN Human Rights Council, the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency, and the UNESCO World Heritage Committee.

Viet Nam is also engaging in six free trade agreements talks with major partners to broaden and deepen its international integration process.

On behalf of the diplomatic corps and international organizations, Venezuelan Ambassador to Viet Nam Jorge Rondon Ucategui said that “It has not been an easy task to the Vietnamese people to preserve their independence and the integrity of the country. Its history has been a constant combat for freedom and independence.”

According to the diplomat, in the international arena, Viet Nam is pursuing its foreign policy characterized by frank friendship, cooperation and peace. Its participation in the United Nations peacekeeping operations is a clear example of its pacifist vocation and responsibility to the international community./.
