VN expects a fruitful and comprehensive cooperation with EU

VNGOP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng made this emphasis while receiving on May 28 Mr. Markus Cornaro, the outgoing Ambassador, head of the European Union (EU) delegation in Vietnam.

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng highly praised the Ambassador's contributions to the promoted Vietnam-EU friendship and his role during Vietnam's WTO accession negotiation. The PM also singled out Mr. Markus Cornaro's supports to Vietnam in implementing the master plan of Vietnam-EU cooperation.

The Government head lauded EU's goodwill to boost its multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam on the basis of equality and mutual benefit, for the sake of the development in the region and the world.  

The PM suggested that the two sides should promptly conduct the joint programs of action and accelerate the realization of bilateral agreements to develop a strategic relation corresponding to the potential of both sides.

It is Vietnam's responsibility to observe her commitments with EU and further deepen this bilateral relationship, affirmed PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng.

According to Mr. Markus Cornaro, during his 4-year term in Vietnam as EU ambassador, all cooperation programs between Vietnam and EU have been successfully put into reality. He affirmed that the EU always pays attention to the Vietnamese Government's commitments to the international community, which are expected to be fulfilled fruitfully.

"The Vietnam-EU bilateral cooperation is strongly developing. In the near future, EU will concentrate on its cooperation programs with Vietnam up to 2013. EU pledges to support Vietnam's reform. We hope that such programs to assist the poor or develop the health system will be promoted", said Mr. Markus Cornaro. He added that Vietnam will surely become a leading strategic partner of EU not only in the field of  economics but also other areas.
