VN donates haul of medical masks to French associations
VGP – The Vietnamese Embassy in France held a ceremony on May 7 to present a large quantity of medical masks to various French associations and authorities.

These medical supplies were gifts from the State Committee on Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, the Ha Noi People’s Committee, national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, the Viet Nam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) and the Vina Mask Company to the France-Viet Nam Friendship Parliamentarians' Groups at the Senate (upper house) and the National Assembly (lower house) of the French parliament, the French Communist Party, the France-Vietnam Friendship Association, the Ile-de-France region, the Association of Vietnamese People in France (AVPF), the Vietnamese Students’ Association in France, and the cities of Paris, Choisy-le-Roi and Montreuil.
Vietnamese Ambassador to France Nguyen Thiep stated that his French friends had been very touched by the show of solidarity along with the compassionate spirit displayed by the Vietnamese people.
Following the donation, the leader of French newspaper L’Humanité expressed profound gratitude for the Vietnamese support to help the European country fight the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), affirming that the move will serve to further bolster the close historical and cultural ties between the two nations.
As one of the recipients of the donation, Stéphanie Do, President of the France-Viet Nam Friendship Parliamentarians' Group, moved to offer thanks for the Southeast Asian country’s timely support of the French people, adding that she will strive to quickly distribute the made-in-Vietnam medical masks to elderly people throughout France.
The move was of great significance, reflecting Viet Nam’s solidarity and willingness to share France’s difficulties in the joint battle against the COVID-19 pandemic./.
